Alamo Camping Supply began around a fire in the Texas hill country, with a simple complaint: the gear had gotten either flimsy or absurd. Twenty-dollar rope that frayed on the first hang. Fire starters that wouldn’t catch in a breeze. And on the other end, “premium” kit priced like jewelry.
